Loooove how the colours are coming back to life❣️The process of varnishing a painting is almost as short as this video. The waiting for a painting to fully dry is the real thing.

One of the best things after waiting for through drying of a painting - varnishing! That’s something I appreciate more afterwards than in the middle of process, but I like seeing what happens to the colours while getting varnish on a painting.

In this video my light wasn’t very good… that’s the price of living in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Germany in the Wintertime 😁 But I’ll make and show another video afterwards in my story, when the sun comes back.

My personal preference is a glossy surface at most of my paintings. It won’t stay as glossy as it seems here fresh on canvas, but it’s definitely getting shiny and that’s something I go for.

Still, I’m always a little nervous pouring a chemical liquid all over a painting I worked so many long hours on. It’s always a mix of excitement and fear.

Life as an artist can be nerve wracking.

The technique of loose painting (loose hand) @gallerymay_art At the pictures and videos you can see strong brush strokes and bright colours. This combination brings already life into the picture. It allows to paint loose and work with layers. Highlights are set through the right amount of white.

The Red Chili is simply painted with three colours. The darker areas in it are blue mixed into a brilliant red. No need for black here.

Highlights and lowlights in the picture with kettle, cup and fruits. Very strong but easy brush strokes and a great colour composition brings life into the painting.

The tea cup is a simple but beautiful painting with less highlights and just a few lowlights. Nevertheless the brush strokes are strong but the used brush softer and wet. Even the littlest thing can make a big difference.

Usually a still-life is painted more off. I love colourful paintings, of course that’s why I decided to spice my still-life painting up 😁 and so I used lots of colours and a rough structure. ☺️ It’s not often I’m painting those kind of objects. The challenge in painting a still life and let the picture shine is; bringing energy to the objects!!! Showing some life in it. Best way to do is using brilliant colours, contrasting colours and the right position of objects and dose of light. Do never underestimate your light 😉
That and more is something you can learn in my workshops 😻🎨
